Meet your Midwife, Brooke
Brooke Schmoe is a proud native of Osceola County, Florida, and has had a passion for women’s health from an early age. Growing up surrounded by her OBGYN father’s medical journals and stories of birth, she developed a natural curiosity about pregnancy, birth, and the care women receive throughout their journey.
It was her own experience becoming a mother that ultimately led her to midwifery. After birthing her first daughter in the care of a midwife, Brooke experienced firsthand the profound impact that personalized, relationship-centered care can have. That experience inspired her to pursue midwifery as a profession and dedicate her career to helping other women feel informed, empowered, and supported.
Brooke graduated from The Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville in 2015. Early in her career, she worked in a high-volume practice where she witnessed firsthand the disparities that can exist in pregnancy care -from access to education and resources to maternal health, emotional well-being, birth outcomes, and overall quality of life. Those experiences planted the seed for something different.
That vision eventually became The Midwife Bus, a unique mobile midwifery concept created to bring compassionate, accessible care directly to families in their communities. Through that work, Brooke continued to see the importance of slowing down, building relationships, educating families, and giving women the confidence and autonomy to take an active role in their own healthcare.
Today, Brooke is bringing that same heart and vision into her own private practice, Pepper Midwifery. Here, she is able to create a little more personal approach to maternity care centered around exclusively homebirth. With her trust, education, informed choice, and truly knowing the families she serves she hopes to continue to serve families in a meaningful way.
Brooke cares deeply about helping women understand their options and feel confident making decisions that are right for themselves and their families. She believes that when women are given knowledge, support, and the freedom to participate fully in their care, they are better equipped to navigate pregnancy, birth, and parenthood with confidence.
When she’s not caring for her clients, Brooke enjoys life in Southeast Orlando with her husband, Nathan, and their four daughters. Her greatest joy is being a mother herself, and that experience continues to shape the compassionate, family-centered care she provides every day.
